***These are more of a children's toy than a Military or Camping item. Some of the Compass Works fine, some do not. The case is decent. They do look like a Military Compass. The wire is crooked or loose on some. I would recommend these be purchased for children as a toy to use when the play "Soldier" or a training aid for those who have never used a Compass, even though some do actually work, some do not . **** I have no idea if they are waterproof or water resistant.
